Tom Thornton, the proud owner of Snaggle Foot in Lisle, has always had a fondness for animals. As a young boy growing up in Kansas, he would bring home every stray dog and cat he could find, although his parents weren't necessarily so fond of all of the strays in their home!
Tom attended the University of Kansas and earned a degree in Journalism Advertising and Photography. He moved to Chicago in the early 90’s and has since been employed by a large format graphic printer as an Account Executive. For the past twenty years he has worked on many graphic and signage projects for local museums, sports arenas, retail stores, and trade shows.
With the support of his family, Tom decided to get out of the daily grind of the business world and spend all of his time doing what he has always loved to do: caring for animals. He decided that a Snaggle Foot pet care franchise would be the perfect family business.

Tom’s wife, Lori, shares his passion for animals. Their entire family has volunteered for German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. for the last fourteen years. They have fostered and cared for many injured and homeless dogs, attended adoption events, and Lori created and maintained the rescue website for www.gsdrescue1.org.
Since April 2012, the Thornton’s have helped Waifs & Strays Animal Rescue of Naperville by providing a temporary home for their rescued kittens in their pet food and supply store, All Pet Pantry, where interested families can meet and play with the kittens anytime during store hours. The Thornton’s are proud to have helped over thirty kittens find their forever homes in 2012. They are also working with ROAR Pet Rescue, Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois, Inc. and Dupage County Animal Care and Control Rescue unit.
Tom, Lori and their three children have always had animals in their home, including rescue dogs and stray cats, rodents, a bearded dragon, birds, toads and fish. The family’s experience and love for animals made it an easy choice to open a pet care business--and they are looking forward to caring for the pets of DuPage county. Andrew Thornton, the couple's oldest son, is one of Snaggle Foot's trained dog walkers and owns two dogs, Ricky & Milo.
When they are not working or rescuing animals, the Thorntons enjoy camping and outdoor activities. Tom and Lori also enjoy going to local antique shops.
